Hello guys,

Here I am sharing computer science and engineering PhD interview questions asked at NIT Andhra Pradesh (Tadepalligudem)

Around 39 students were called for full-time PhD positions in computer science and engineering at NIT Andhra Pradesh (Tadepalligudem). The interviews were held on 27-Dec-2019. Approx. 22 people turned up for the interview. There was no written test. It was a face-to-face interview.

The candidate’s area was security. The panel members had already the candidate’s profile/application form available with them. Each candidate was interviewed for approximately 10 minutes.

There were 3 members in the interview panel. One male and two female professors. All questions were asked by the male professor. The questions were as follows:

  • Introduce yourself
  • Apart from security what are the core subjects that you know in computer science?
  • Given a Xbox with 2 memory components, you observe a performance lag while playing games. The defect may be in one of the memory components. How can you gather performance related metrics from the memory units considering that you cannot open the Xbox? What is your approach?
  • Write the main components in the program for virtual memory management on the board
  • What is the use of MAC layer in the network stack?
  • Is MAC layer separate or a part of the data link layer?
